Italia 2.0

Tricolore (credits to Tris ;)

Another substantial gap between posts... back in Easter we did a few days in Italy with Kath and Tris, primarily to visit Clara, Nico, Matteo and family in Verona, however we managed to squeeze in some time to see Milan, Venice and Lake Como. As always Italy didn't dissappoint, with good food, good wine, good coffee and plenty of sunshine.

Starting off with a visit to Milan's Duomo

Statues on the roof

Old and new Figures watching over the piazza

Next stop Verona to visit Clara, Nico and family

The lovely hospitable Julianna and Pino

Verona's Arena - why bother with Rome?

Dante in Piazza dei Signori

Everyone in Piazza delle Erbe

Us in the Arena, we were a little early for the show

Inside the Arena

A VERY quick stop in Sirmione on Lake Garda

Tha gals

Lazise, Lake Garda - the happy lake!

Unfortunately it was a little hazy so there wasn't much of a view of the Alps...

Still the haze made for a decent sunset!

ah... how romantic!

Aimes happy to be back in sunny Venice

A apperativo in St Mark's Square, that'll be 65 Euro thanks!

Aperol makes you happy!

What would a trip to Venice be without a few canal photos?

Gerg's fantastic restaurant recommendation

The Grand Canal by night

Washing and their shadows

Tourist shot!

Another tourist shot! There's not much on Isola di San Giorgio, pretty decent view of St Mark's though

Two happy customers at Mistra, Pino's recommendation. Pity we didn't have the salt baked fish!

More colourful canals in Burano, the lace island

They like a little colour in Burano

A last stop in Lake Como, the sad lake ?

Bellagio and finally a glimpse of the Alps
